Claus-D. Christophel

Co-Founder

Claus-D. Christophel has been a prominent figure in the maritime industry for decades. In 1974, he founded CDC Mess- und Regeltechnik GmbH, where he served as managing partner until its acquisition by the Finnish Wärtsilä Group in 2008. His extensive experience in marine measurement and control technology has been instrumental in the development of Torque Marine’s innovative propulsion systems.

Hans Helmut Schramm

Co-Founder

Hans Helmut Schramm has been the owner and managing director of Hans Schramm & Sohn GmbH & Co. KG for over a decade. Under his leadership, the Schramm Group expanded to include Brunsbüttel Ports GmbH, the operator of the Elbe port in Brunsbüttel. His expertise in port operations and maritime logistics has been vital in steering Torque Marine towards success.

Prof. Dr. Albert Maringer

Co-Founder

Prof. Dr. Albert Maringer brings decades of expertise in industrial engineering, economics, and renewable energy to Torque Marine. Over his illustrious career, he has held executive roles, including President & CEO of Siemens Canada and General Manager of Siemens Technical Service, overseeing major projects across 162 countries. As the founder of Maringer Consulting Alberta, he has specialized in renewable energy solutions and energy storage technology.

Together, Claus-D. Christophel and Hans Helmut Schramm founded Torque Marine IPS Innovative Propulsion Systeme GmbH & Co. KG in June 2008, aiming to revolutionize ship propulsion with diesel-electric systems. Their combined experience and vision continue to drive the company towards innovative solutions in the maritime industry.
